The following images and descriptions show how to use the Microstick Plus USB panel with different communication modes.
Device communication mode – Through USB Mini-B connector
- The position of configuration switches:
- Position of SW1 switch: D
- Position of SW2 switch: D
- Both switches oriented towards the push button. (see it on the illustration)
- Communication connector: USB Mini-B
- Powering the USB periphery via: USB Mini-B
Device communication mode – Through USB Micro-B connector
- The position of configuration switches:
- Position of SW1 switch: H
- Position of SW2 switch: D
- Communication connector: USB Micro-AB
- Powering the USB periphery via:
USB Micro-AB
Host communication mode – Through USB Host-A connector
- The position of configuration switches:
- Position of SW1 switch: H
- Position of SW2 switch: D
- Communication connector: USB Host-A
- Powering the USB periphery via: USB Mini-B
- Powering of device connected via USB-Host connector: USB Mini-B
Host communication mode – Through USB Host-A connector
Controlling power supply of USB connector
- The position of configuration switches:
- Position of SW1 switch: H
- Position of SW2 switch: O
- Both switches oriented outwards the push button. (see it on the illustration)
- Communication connector: USB Host-A
- Powering the USB periphery via: USB Mini-B
- Powering of device connected via USB-Host connector: USB Mini-B
- Value of VBUSON/RB14 pin:
- Logical high enables the output voltage
- Logical low disables the output voltage
- Typical application: In case of over current the user program automatically disconnects the device by removing its power supply. In case of over current the over current circuit pulls down the value of RB7 pin to to logical low.
On-The-Go (OTG) communication mode – Through USB Micro-AB connector
- The position of configuration switches:
- Position of SW1 switch: H
- Position of SW2 switch: O
- Both switches oriented outwards the push button. (see it on the illustration)
- Communication connector: USB Micro-AB
- Powering the USB periphery via: USB Mini-B
- Powering of device connected via USB-Host connector: USB Mini-B
- In case of using OTG cable the ID pin is connected to USB_ID/RB5 pin of the microcontroller.
- Value of VBUSON/RB14 pin:
- Logical high enables the output voltage
- Logical low disables the output voltage
